AWS EC2 instance
Step-by-step guide to launch a AWS EC2 instance, install NGINX.

As a starter I tried to share my knowledge on the simple guide to launching an AWS EC2 instance with free tier account and install nginx server.
Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides secure, resizable compute capacity in the cloud. Amazon EC2 offers many options that help you build and run virtually any application
To start with, sign up for a free AWS account. Sign in to the AWS profile/page

Search for EC2 in the search box to create an AWS EC2 instance. Identify which instance type is best for your workload. For the purpose of this write up, i will choose a low-cost, general-purpose instance type — t2.micro — and Ubuntu server20.04— which are both free-tier eligible. Open the Amazon EC2 dashboard and choose “Launch Instance” to create your virtual machine.

Next is to configure the AWS EC2 instance as per work require.
Below are a few things to configure.
-Choose a unique name for the EC2 instance
-Image- Ubuntu server 20.04
-Security group: We can either create security group or can select the default VPC security group.
-Storage: I will select the default which is a free tier.
Choose “Launch Instances” to complete the setup.

Create Key pair. This is needed for ssh connection

Navigate to the instance to verify if it is running state.

To view the entire instance and it dependent resources select the resource ID.

To connect to the EC instance click to reveal the different ways to connect. For the purpose of the write up i will using the SSH. Remember i have created a key pair saved in my host computer drive.

Open PowerShell 7 from the host computer and connect to the EC2 instance.

The next is to install nginx. Before we install we need to use the command apt update then apt install nginx

Copy and paste the public IP address to web browser.

Lastly we have to stop or terminate the EC2 instance. In the instance I will terminate the EC2 instance.

Thanks for reading.
